LIGHTING 101

Lighting doesn’t have to feel complicated or intimidating. With the right fundamentals, you’ll discover that studio lighting is one of the most creative tools in your photography toolkit.

Led by talented photographer Stacey Borrego, this workshop will cover:

  • How to set up and shape light with strobes and continuous lighting

  • Understanding the role of different modifiers—from softboxes to umbrellas—and how they transform your images

  • Creative approaches to positioning lights for mood, depth, and flattering portraits

  • Simple techniques to troubleshoot and adapt lighting in any scenario

The first hour will walk you through key concepts and live demonstrations of multiple setups. In the second hour, you’ll get behind the camera to practice, experiment, and build your confidence with expert guidance.

By the end, you’ll see lighting not as something to fear—but as a powerful way to bring your creative vision to life.
